Bridge Builders – The Pocket Testament League in the UK – is an Evangelical organisation dedicated to enabling Christians to share their faith one to one.  We are a registered charity and a limited company and a long term member of The Evangelical Alliance.

Bridge Builders is administered by a Board of Directors who meet quarterly.

Dave Bennett National Director

Having studied at the Bible Training    Institute in Glasgow, Dave was an Evangelist with Seamen's Christian Friend Society for 14 years before joining the Pocket Testament League (now known as Bridge Builders) in 1983.  Dave was an Evangelist and Trainer with Bridge Builders until becoming National Director in 2006. Dave has been involved in all kinds of Christian outreach.  For many years he led children’s missions and holiday clubs.  He has spoken at evangelistic events in many situations and to all age groups.  For the past 26 years Dave has been the leader of the Chester Tell-a-Tourist team and in recent years he has been padre at Merseyside Christian Youth Camps.  For the past eight years he has led an outreach in Fatima, Portugal. For many Dave is best known as a motivational preacher with a burden for mission.

In 2000 Dave became a part-time postgraduate student at Cliff College in Derbyshire.  In 2003 he was awarded an MA in Evangelism Studies with Distinction from the University of Sheffield.  As part of his MA Dave undertook an extensive research project into 'How do Adults become Christians?'.  He looked at the stories of 383 recent adult converts.  He has since turned his research findings into a course on “How to help someone you know consider Christianity”.  Training has become an important part of Dave’s present day ministry.

In the autumn of 2009 Dave started a Doctor of Ministry programme with Mattersey Hall Graduate School which is validated by the University of Bangor. He hopes to complete his research in 2012.

Dave is married to Chris and they have two grown-up children. He is an elder of Maitland Evangelical Church in Birkenhead.  His hobbies include collecting sticks, reading and he enjoys natural history, particularly birds.  His favorate place is the WWT reserve at Martin Mere.
