| What Others Say Would you like to hear from some others who have heard Dave speak?
I first heard Dave Bennett give his seminar at the FIEC annual conference in 2005. I knew immediately that what he was sharing was vitally important and wanted my whole church to hear. Since then he has visited us twice and now I am not the only one who is enthusiastic! He uses the results of an MA research in which he examined the stories of a large number of adult, and recent, Christian converts. He describes the trends he found, and also illustrates his presentation with wonderful stories of how God found people. He challenges us to be involved in that work. It’s a message we constantly need to hear. Far too many evangelical churches are ‘maintaining church’, than passionately pursuing the Master’s mission. Too many Christians feel inept, ungifted, and more willing to support others than ‘get stuck in’ themselves. But Dave’s seminar is not a ‘try harder’ message. Instead it is full of encouragement. He describes how God is using ‘normal’ Christians who are willing to be friendly, who show love and practical care, who are willing to invite people they know to meetings and events, and who are willing to give Scripture away. We all can do that! By asking Dave to come to your church to share this seminar, I am sure that you will receive real uplift, renewed vision, and stronger desire to be useful to God in the task he has set his people. I very happily and heartily commend it to you. Rev Paul Gamston - Associate Pastor, Malpas Road Evangelical Church, Newport, South Wales “I attended Dave's seminar 'How adults come to faith' at the FIEC Pwllheli Conference a few years back. I found Dave's research and the way he presented it very helpful and reassuring for me in my work of trying to reach people with the good news about Jesus Christ. Having found it so helpful myself I arranged for Dave to come and share it with our church over four sessions. Many found the fact that the crucial elements which Dave's research had highlighted in adults coming to faith were the things they were already doing or had done. Manytestified to having been encouraged to keep going or renew their endeavours to share the gospel with others. At least a few now always have a John's gospel about their person to use at an appropriate moment.” Rebecca Fong – Youth Leader, Liverpool Chinese Gospel Church “Dave Bennett came to teach our youth group about personal evangelism. Emphasising that itwasn'tsimplya technique but a Spirit-led lifestyle encouragedthe young people to engage with the Word daily. The sessioncovered the biblicalcontext and equipped them to use the invaluable John’s gospel booklet, whichisa helpful aid when sharing the gospel. Dave’s personal experiences were insightful and inspiring.” Andrew Holland – Pastor, Noddfa Chapel Abersychan, South Wales "When I first heard Dave Bennett, I was fascinated by his study, and the material he has gathered. A fellow minister said that I should hear him, and he wasn't wrong! Interesting, inspirational and perfectly practical for modern believers looking to share the Gospel, but needing help to do so. Subsequently I invited him to share his research with my Church and people were very encouraged." Steve Le Page – full-time Elder, Rutland Road Church, Bedford “It was good to have Dave Bennett come and share with us from his research, on the theme “How to help someone you know consider Christianity”. It was really affirming to find that we were on the right track through our cell group social activities aimed at building relationships. Encouraging too, to take the pressure off 'I've got to share everything about the gospel' and realise that sometimes all it takes is inviting someone along to an activity, or a service, or offering to pray for things going on in their lives. Dave's approach was really helpful, combining upfront presentation of the information he had gained in his research, with small group and interactive discussions which helped everyone to remain engaged. It’s been great subsequently to hear folk talking about things they gained from the time; even greater to hear conversations about opportunities folk have had to share their faith in different ways. I for one, would thoroughly recommend Dave's presentation as a good means of releasing congregations from the fear of the 'e' word, into sharing their faith just in the course of their daily lives.”
